On September 27, 2022, the limited liability company National Sports Centre of Latvia was registered in the Register of Enterprises of the Republic of Latvia. It was established by merging four state-owned capital companies – the Culture and Sports Centre "Daugavas stadium", the Sigulda Bobsleigh and Luge Track, the Lielupe tennis centre, the Mežaparks sports centre, Kleisti Sports base and Team Sports Hall.
National Sports Centre of Latvia economic activity is co-financed from state budget funds.

The overall strategic goal of SIA Latvijas Nacionālais sporta centrs is to ensure the management and development of the national sports facilities – the Culture and Sports Center “Daugavas Stadium”, the Bobsleigh and Luge Track "Sigulda", the Tennis Center "Lielupe" and the Sports Center "Mežaparks" – and to create conditions for preparing Latvian athletes for participation in international sports competitions, for holding national and international level sports competitions and cultural events, as well as to provide residents with the opportunity to engage in organized sports activities by using the opportunities offered by the sports facilities.
It is expected that the establishment of the Latvian National Sports Center will ensure centralized development, operation and maintenance of national sports facilities by centralizing the functions of the board and administrative staff in the areas of strategic and operational management, financial management, project management, public relations, human resources management, legal support, procurement management, records management and IT provision.
The establishment of a single state-owned company предусматривает the development of a unified national sports facilities development strategy and supervision of its implementation, unified planning and organizator of infrastructure development and operation, as well as the opportunity for the Ministry of Education and Science to implement targeted governance of the company and to monitor the compliance of its activities with the objectives of sports policy.
Culture and Sports Centre “Daugavas Stadium” with a total area of 10.32 ha is one of the largest sports facilities in Latvia, and historically it hosts the Latvian Nationwide Song and Dance Festival and the Latvian School Youth Song and Dance Festival. The sports infrastructure of Daugavas Stadium includes:
- the central sports field with a natural grass football pitch, athletics tracks and athletics sectors, including spectator stands with 10,461 seats.
- An ice hall available for ice hockey, figure skating and curling enthusiasts, with two ice rinks, a gym, a sports shop and a cafe.
- a new multifunctional indoor athletics arena,
- a renovated athletics training and football field,
- a central gathering square and the historic gate pylons.
- In 2023, with the involvement of the Latvian Football Federation, construction of an indoor football hall will be started.
Sigulda Bobsleigh and Luge Track with a total artificial ice area of 6,330 m2 is a unique facility with only a few alternatives in Eastern Europe. It includes an artificial ice track with a length of 1,200 m + 220 m and 16 curves. The main venue for training processes and international competitions in bobsleigh, luge and skeleton.
At the Lielupe Tennis Centre based in Jūrmala there are 9 outdoor tennis courts, an indoor tennis hall with 5 tennis courts and 1,000 spectator seats, a hall with 4 tennis courts, 3 squash courts, a beach tennis court and an indoor mini tennis court, a gym and aerobics hall, conference rooms, a cafe and a tennis sports goods shop.
Mežaparks Sports Centre is located on the shore of Lake Ķīšezers and mainly provides opportunities to train in sports such as futsal, basketball, volleyball, beach volleyball, tennis, handball, badminton, fencing and sailing. The centre offers a boat pier, a service hotel, gyms and fitness halls, as well as sports rehabilitation and recreation rooms.
